Aloha Got Soul Reissues Mike Lundy’s “The Rhythm Of Life!”

Mike Lundy

Soulsistas And SoulBruthas! Aloha Got Soul’s Roger Bong, one of the word’s best crate diggers, and a specialist in Hawaiian SOUL and FUNK music/artists, recently took a bold step and started his own record label. For the first LP release, Roger is reissuing a wonderful little slice of soul from Mike Lundy.

Mike Lundy’s The Rhythm Of Life is finally available again in its full glory: the nine-track quintessential Hawaiian funk/soul opus that has come to represent the birth of the Aloha Got Soul record label and the rebirth of Lundy’s almost forgotten masterpiece.

The Rhythm Of Life is Mike Lundy’s only LP, recorded in 1979 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Inspired by bands like Tower Of Power and Earth, Wind & Fire, The Rhythm Of Life claims its identity in the funk-and-soul universe with inventive arrangements, clever rhythms, and a timeless quality that transcends the notion of what music from Hawaii should sound like.
